Why vaccinate your pet?
Vaccines prepare an animal’s immune system to fight specific viruses and bacteria, thereby preventing illness or significantly reducing its severity. Many of these diseases-such as canine distemper, parvovirus, rabies, leptospirosis, or bordetellosis (kennel cough)-are difficult to treat and often fatal, making prevention much safer and more affordable than treatment. Rabies vaccination is also a prerequisite for traveling with an animal outside Latvia and for obtaining an EU pet passport.
When to vaccinate? Vaccination schedule
Puppies and kittens begin vaccinations at just a few weeks old, and initially, these are given multiple times at intervals of a few weeks until full protection is established. For adult animals, protection is maintained with regular booster vaccinations (usually once a year or less frequently, depending on the vaccine type). A precise schedule tailored to your pet is created by the veterinarian after an examination-we invite you to book a consultation.

Care after vaccination
- Most animals tolerate vaccination well. Mild drowsiness, reduced appetite, or slight sensitivity at the injection site may occur within the first few days-this is normal and resolves on its own. Rarely, a stronger reaction may occur (swelling, vomiting, difficulty breathing); in such a case, contact the clinic immediately. After vaccination, it is recommended to ensure the animal has rest and access to fresh water.
